Know about Sikh Wedding Rituals

Roka/Thaka

Be it an orchestrated marriage or love marriage, the assent of the two arrangements of guardians is significant in all Sikh wedding cards. To show that he gives his assent, the lady's dad as a rule visits the husband to be with a couple of individuals of the family and gives his full help by applying a tilak on the lucky man's brow and giving him blessings of desserts and garments and here and there a kara or ring. A similar custom is then performed by the husband to be's dad towards the lady either later around the same time or a few days before the commitment service.

Chunni Ceremony

This is the official commitment service while the roka is a casual function where both the young lady and kid are perceived by the two families as destined to-be-married. The man of the hour and his family members and dear companions take a favorable red outfit wedding invitation wording, adornments, basic chunni and cosmetics as blessings to the lady with the goal that she could wear them on the big day. It is generally the female relative who present the lady of the hour with the outfit and adornments.

They would take her in a different room and dress her up in the outfit and frill at that point take her back to where the remainder of the assemblage is accumulated and is situated close to the lucky man.The husband to be's mom would then wrap a basic red chunni over the lady of the hour's head and bears and apply some mehndi on the palm of her hands and feed her some Indian desserts.

Kurmai

This is a function that happens either at the husband to be's home or at the Gurudwara with close loved ones welcomed to celebrate. The granthi would for the most part be the one to begin the service by offering a short petition  after which the man of the hour's sisters will put a palla around the lucky man's shoulders for when the lady's dad places a small bunch of dry organic products into this palla and puts a kara on his wrist.
